Abiomed, a leader in heart pump technology serving hospitals and healthcare providers worldwide, was struggling to keep sales incentives aligned with performance goals as its sales organization grew rapidly and its Management by Objectives (MBO) process remained manual. Working with Xactly Corporation and using Xactly Incent, Abiomed needed a scalable way to support multiple incentive plans while improving visibility, accuracy, and compliance.
Xactly Corporation helped Abiomed build an Extend-based MBO application that automated submissions, calculations, payouts, and roster management while integrating directly with Xactly Incent. The results were significant: MBO administration time was cut by 50% from four weeks to two, commissions could be calculated for twice as many payees in half the time, and the incentive program scaled from 50 to 900 payees with greater transparency and fewer errors.
