Case Study: Kroger improves candidate quality and retention with WorkStep

A WorkStep Case Study

Preview of the Kroger Case Study

More qualified candidates & improved retention in their DCs

Kroger, one of the largest grocery chains in the U.S., needed help filling 500+ distribution center roles nationwide, with a focus on candidates who had several years of DC experience. The company was hiring for positions such as Order Selector, Class A Driver, and Loss Prevention, and was looking to improve both candidate quality and retention. WorkStep supported Kroger’s recruiting efforts with its candidate network and hiring workflow.

WorkStep worked closely with Kroger to tailor its system to the needs of each department and site, creating an efficient interview process that fit Kroger’s operations. The partnership drove 10 direct hires per facility at the outset, doubled on-site interviews, and helped source 100% of non-exempt roles in supported facilities primarily through WorkStep. Kroger also reported higher retention among WorkStep placements, reducing training and replacement costs.
