A WorkStep Case Study
WestRock, a paper and packaging leader with 50,000+ team members across 320 locations, was struggling to fill production roles such as machine operators and general laborers while relying heavily on expensive temp staffing. The company also needed better visibility into new-hire sentiment and retention challenges, especially for high-turnover frontline positions.
WorkStep implemented its hiring and employee feedback platform to provide qualified candidates, automate applicant screening and self-scheduled interviews, and gather actionable workforce insights through WorkStep Retain. The results included 10x more candidates, 82% retention on placements, more than 10 direct hires per month in each pilot facility, and three workforce-driven actions taken in the first month, including parking, bathroom, and break-schedule improvements.
