Facing fragmented legacy systems, heavy administrative overhead and limited visibility into financials and workforce data—especially after its 2011 split from a partner—the company needed a lean, cloud‑based platform to unify HR and finance and free up staff to focus on members.
AAA NCNU implemented Workday’s unified HCM and Financial Management suite—going live in 14 weeks—and gained a single source of truth. Results included reducing chart of accounts from 6,000 to 300, cutting quarterly close time by 50%, lowering the cost of payroll/HCM/financial management by 50%, and shrinking support resources to roughly one‑third so two‑thirds of staff could be redeployed to member‑facing priorities, while improving forecasting and enabling easier growth.
