A WoodWing Software Case Study
Luzerner Zeitung, the leading Swiss daily newspaper in Central Switzerland, needed a more flexible and future-ready publishing environment because its old newspaper system had reached its limits. The complex regional workflow, combined with the need to better coordinate editorial offices, advertising, and prepress, made it difficult to efficiently produce its six editions and multi-channel content.
WoodWing Software, using WoodWing Studio, provided a central workflow hub integrated with planning, editorial, image, and web publishing systems. The implementation improved collaboration and asset access, automated catalog production to save a week of design time per month, and increased production reliability and transparency. The system now runs in three instances with 150 internal seats and about 50 external seats, enabling centralized planning and production across all titles.
