With simple changes Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel saves 300 plated meals every month

Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, a luxury hotel in central Bangkok, wanted to reduce food waste and improve kitchen efficiency while supporting its sustainability goals. To do this, the hotel partnered with Winnow and installed Winnow’s digital scale and smart meter solution to measure and understand what was being wasted in its restaurants.

Winnow helped the kitchen team identify guest preferences and adjust buffet layouts and food preparation accordingly, reducing overproduction. As a result, food waste fell by 70%, saving about $14,200 per year and avoiding 1.6 tonnes of food waste, equivalent to 300 plated meals saved each month.
