Hilton’s Green Ramadan Campaign scales to reduce food waste an additional 21% from 61% in 2023

Hilton Kuala Lumpur, working with Winnow, faced the challenge of cutting food waste during Ramadan buffets without compromising the variety and quality expected by guests. To tackle this, Hilton used Winnow’s AI-powered food waste tracking system as part of its Green Ramadan Campaign to better align food production with actual guest consumption.

Winnow helped Hilton Kuala Lumpur track waste in real time and fine-tune portions, quantities, and buffet offerings across its properties. The result was a 61% reduction in food waste in 2023, followed by an additional 21% reduction in 2024, alongside measurable impact including fewer meals wasted and lower CO2e emissions.
