Weggy’s Restaurant - Customer Case Study

Weggy’s on Campus, a single-location diner with 24 employees at Minnesota State University, struggled with manual scheduling. Co-owner Danielle Mettler was spending about three hours a week using Excel, Word and Post‑its to track constantly changing student availability and to cover last‑minute changes, which sometimes pushed labor costs over budget.

After adopting When I Work, employees enter availability and use the mobile app to request swaps/drops and receive shift alerts, letting Danielle build schedules in bulk and approve changes quickly. Scheduling time dropped to about 10 minutes per week, communication and shift accountability improved, and onboarding new semester staff now only takes a few minutes.
