Stanford Health Care worked with West Corporation, using TeleVox Solutions, to improve appointment communication and drive higher patient text-message adoption. The challenge was reaching patients through a channel they actually use, given the growing preference for mobile and text-based communication.
West Corporation implemented an opt-in campaign that combined live-call prompts and voicemail follow-up to encourage patients to subscribe to text appointment messages. The campaign reached 30,381 targeted patients and generated 9,534 opt-ins from 29,811 successful contacts, for an overall opt-in rate of 32%; 46% opted in during live calls and 13% via manual keyword text, with key findings showing patients were 3.5 times more likely to opt in during a live call than after a voicemail.
