Case Study: Rakuten SL achieves faster updates, cost savings, and improved security with Webflow

A Webflow Case Study

Preview of the Rakuten Case Study

Rakuten SL switched from WordPress to Webflow to save time, money, and security headaches

Rakuten faced recurring security vulnerabilities and slow, development-driven workflows on a WordPress site, so during a redesign the team chose Webflow as a more secure, easier-to-manage alternative. Approval from Rakuten Global and internal research led them to move the site from WordPress to Webflow to reduce maintenance overhead and regain control of content updates.

Using Webflow (with design and rebuild support from Adlava), Rakuten cut costs and drastically sped up edits—saving over $1,500 in months and reducing update time from 4–5 hours with external developers to about 20 minutes internally. After the switch to Webflow they saw measurable engagement gains: +12.7% pageviews, −27.9% bounce rate, +9.5% new users and +9.4% pages per session.
