Children’s Eye Physicians, a Denver-based pediatric ophthalmology practice seeing about 35,000 patients annually, faced rising patient AR as families shifted to higher-deductible plans and were unable to pay balances. To tighten collections and protect revenue, the practice evaluated vendors and adopted Waystar, implementing Waystar® ClaimFlow™ clearinghouse services in 2015, Waystar® Payments™ in 2016 and Waystar’s Greenlight/Greenlight Flex secure credit‑card‑on‑file solution in 2017.
Using Waystar’s Greenlight Flex to securely capture cards at checkout and auto‑collect after insurer remittance, CEP saved at least the cost of one FTE and autocollected $77,000 in patient revenue within three months. Card capture rates reached 55% in month one and processing rose from 2% to 13% by July, helping reduce patient AR; Waystar also provided onboarding, training and ongoing support to streamline five‑minute card entry and improve staff confidence.
