Excel Eye Center, a growing multi-site ophthalmology practice in Provo, Utah, was facing revenue cycle slowdowns as it expanded: average AR was 48 days, AR >90 days was 20%, and net collections averaged 88%. The practice needed a clearinghouse that offered real-time eligibility, electronic EOB/ERA, electronic secondary submissions, rapid turnaround and dynamic claims correction to reduce days in AR and streamline billing. Waystar implemented an integrated practice management and web-based clearinghouse solution, provided training and support, and enabled electronic remittance and same-day claim responses and corrections. As a result, Excel Eye Center cut AR days by 63% (to about 30 days), reduced AR >90 days by 65% (from 20% to 7%), increased net collections by 11% (to 98%), began posting payments within 14 days, and now processes roughly 300 claims daily with five fewer FTEs—demonstrating faster, more accurate reimbursement under Waystar.
