A Waystar Case Study
Gwinnett Medical Center faced rising patient-pay balances and manual processes that made it hard to comply with 501(r) presumptive charity rules, maximize cash, and control outsourcing costs. To address these challenges they engaged Waystar, adopting its clearinghouse services and modules including Agency Manager, the Advanced Propensity to Pay module, and the Presumptive Charity module.
Waystar implemented an optimized insource/outsource program driven by predictive analytics, automated charity screening, and vendor performance monitoring. As a result Waystar improved vendor performance by 30%, delivered a $2.6M annual collections lift, reduced day-365 aging by 35% (accelerating cash), produced FTE savings, and qualified $32M for full presumptive charity, with collections rising immediately after the transition.
