A Wavetec Case Study

Preview of the The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, Punjab Case Study

The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, Punjab

The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, Punjab, which manages healthcare provision across 38 districts, needed an electronic queue management system for 12 Tehsil Headquarter (THQ) hospitals and 6 District Headquarter (DHQ) hospitals that would integrate with their existing HMIS, allow centralized single-terminal calling, and handle a daily footfall of about 3,000 visitors. To meet these goals they selected Wavetec and its queue management solutions.

Wavetec deployed 17" ticket-dispensing kiosks, a people-calling application, counter displays (40 per DHQ, 25 per THQ) and 55" digital signage, all integrated with the HMIS and enabling centralized control. The solution has been tested in 14 hospitals and implemented in 18 with full rollout imminent, delivering shorter waits, higher employee productivity, improved patient satisfaction, safer visitor flows and centralized operational reporting. Wavetec’s implementation supports the department’s goal of more streamlined, measurable patient journeys.
