Lahore University of Management Sciences creates a mock stock trading floor

The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan’s leading academic institution, needed a turnkey solution to create a mock stock trading floor that would give final-year economics and finance students hands-on experience with real-time markets. They engaged Wavetec to provide interactive display technology and market simulation tools to support applied learning and more engaging classroom experiences.

Wavetec installed and integrated LED display tickers (32‑foot at the main entrance and 59‑foot inside the Economics Lab) and, via local partner Softech, linked them to the Lahore and Karachi Stock Exchanges to feed real-time market data. The Wavetec solution enabled students to trade Stocks, Bonds, Options and Futures in an online real-time trading room, delivering live market visibility and practical training while increasing engagement and market literacy.
