Case Study: Thermo Fisher Scientific achieves 70% new Workday user engagement and scalable global onboarding with WalkMe

A WalkMe Case Study

Preview of the Thermo Fisher Scientific Case Study

Thermo Fisher Scientific boosts productivity, improves adoption of Workday® and Salesforce® thanks to WalkMe

Thermo Fisher Scientific, a global leader in serving science with about 70,000 employees, faced a major change-management challenge when rolling out Workday®: creating and maintaining clear, role-specific onboarding and training across locations and 10 languages, updating content with each Workday release, and supporting large influxes of new hires (up to 10,000 at a time) while delivering personalized, just-in-time help.

By deploying WalkMe (Onboarding Tasks, Walk‑Thrus, Launchers, Segmentation and Insights), Thermo Fisher created scalable, role-based guides, contextual prompts (e.g., a ShoutOut that enabled 5,800 employees per quarter to complete Job Requisition Requests on first attempt), and translated custom-field guidance into 10 languages with visual cues for mandatory fields. The solution drove strong adoption and reduced maintenance: 70% of new Workday users engage with WalkMe onboarding, 83% use it for ongoing support, ~46,000 employees interacted with ~550,000 WalkMe items last year, and content updates after Workday releases are now far faster and easier.
