Yo! Free Samples Increased CTR Using VWO Testing

Yo! Free Samples, a New York eCommerce site founded in 2007 that curates free-product offers without surveys, needed a way to deliver time-sensitive deals before they expired and keep content perpetually fresh. The team turned to VWO and its push-notification product, VWO Engage, to solve the problem of customers landing on expired offers and to complement their existing email newsletters.

By adding VWO Engage’s setup code, Yo! Free Samples began sending real-time web push notifications that work in tandem with email, driving a quarter of a million sessions from pushes (99% from returning visitors). VWO’s solution produced an average click-through rate of 17.96% with a peak CTR of 39%, and users arriving via notifications spent an average of 2 minutes 52 seconds on site—significantly outperforming typical email click rates.
