User-Centric CTA Tests by UsabilityWeb.nl for Increased Click-Throughs

UsabilityWeb.nl, a Dutch usability and UX blog run by agency Concept7, wanted to improve clicks on a profile CTA that read "Huur mij in" (Hire me), which they suspected might scare visitors away. Using VWO to run an A/B test on the button label, the team set out to see whether a softer, more personal label would drive more engagement.

VWO’s test compared the original "Huur mij in" against "Over mij" (About me) and found the "Over mij" variant raised the click-through rate from 2.8% to 5.1% — an 80% increase in CTR. The result validated VWO’s experiment approach and showed that reducing perceived commitment in CTA wording can significantly boost visitor clicks.
