A VWO Case Study
Shirtinator, a Munich-based online provider of customized textiles and personalized gifts, faced disappointing sales from tablet users because its mobile site was built for phones and not optimized for larger tablet screens. To address this, Shirtinator used VWO’s Split URL Testing to evaluate whether directing tablet traffic to a new HTML5/desktop site would improve conversions.
Using VWO, Shirtinator split Android tablet visitors between the existing mobile site and the new HTML5 desktop experience and tracked revenue in VWO; the HTML5 site delivered a 71.81% uplift in revenue and a 32% increase in completed orders for tablet users. The test results led Shirtinator to adopt a responsive desktop-oriented design to better serve tablet traffic, with the impact measured and validated through VWO.
