A VWO Case Study
ICoupon Blog, a five-month-old coupon website, wanted to increase click-throughs on its coupon listings and suspected a large “Secure” icon in the sidebar was distracting users. To test this hypothesis the team used VWO for A/B testing and user feedback to measure how the security badge affected conversions.
Using VWO, ICoupon Blog ran a simple experiment comparing the original page with the Secure badge to a variation with the badge removed; user testing also confirmed the badge was highly noticeable. The result: removing the security icon produced a statistically significant 400%+ increase in click-through rate (with a ~17% drop in on-site engagement), demonstrating that VWO’s testing helped the team prioritize click-throughs over engagement and improve business outcomes.
