How 160 Driving Academy A/B Tested Website Images To Increase Conversions

160 Driving Academy, an Illinois-based truck-driving school, faced low conversion rates on its classes/home page that used a stock photo. Working with SpectrumInc—a certified VWO partner—the academy used VWO’s A/B Testing to test whether replacing the stock image with a photo of a real student would increase trust and drive more contacts and registrations.

Using VWO A/B Testing, SpectrumInc replaced the stock truck image with a branded photo of an actual student (later edited to remove a distracting sweatshirt logo); the variation delivered a 161% lift in visits to the Thank You page (primary conversion) and a 38.4% lift in visits to the Registration page, both at 98% confidence. VWO-powered testing showed that realistic, on-brand imagery increased trust, strengthened branding cues, and produced clear, measurable conversion gains.
