FietsPunt, a small Dutch online bike-parts and accessories retailer, faced high bounce rates on its product pages that were suppressing online orders. To increase trust and conversions, the company ran A/B tests using VWO's Visual Website Optimizer platform to identify what social-proof elements would reduce visitor anxiety and boost sales.
Using VWO, FietsPunt tested a Facebook likes widget and then a TrustPilot reviews widget on product pages; the TrustPilot variation produced the winning result. The VWO-run test (50/50 split, ~16,000 visitors over 15 days) delivered a 36.73% increase in orders with 99% confidence, and the owner estimated roughly €90,000 in additional monthly revenue from the uplift.
