Dutchento Tested a CTA That Communicated Benefits and Increased CTR

Dutchento, the official Dutch Magento community run by Guido Jansen, needed to increase subscriptions for its newsletter and RSS feed. To find what would drive more clicks, Dutchento used VWO’s A/B testing and multivariate testing tools to experiment with the site’s subscription box without relying on development resources.

Using VWO, Dutchento tested a variation that added a clear title and a short bullet list of benefits (Dutch Magento news, free updates, event discounts) plus separate buttons for newsletter and newsfeed. The change lifted newsletter click-through rate by 190.31% while newsfeed clicks fell by 44.46%; VWO made it easy to measure this trade-off and plan follow-up tests (for example, randomizing link position to investigate the RSS drop).
