BuyAKilt.com, an online kilt and Scottish Highland dress retailer, wanted to know whether adding a product filter across its many category and subcategory pages would improve conversions. Rather than assuming the change would work, BuyAKilt.com used VWO's A/B testing platform to validate the idea before rolling it out.
Using VWO to run the experiment, BuyAKilt.com added a sidebar filter to let shoppers shop by kilt type, pattern and yardage; the tested variation drove a 76.1% increase in revenue, a 26% lift in conversions and a 19.76% increase in shopping cart visits. BuyAKilt.com noted that VWO made running the test and collecting results easy and quick, and the team plans further experiments.
