Case Study: Nissan achieves a fully digital DTC car-buying journey with VTEX

A VTEX Case Study

Preview of the Nissan Case Study

Nissan’s DTC ecommerce is shifting the gears of the automotive industry

Nissan (Nissan Brazil) faced the challenge of moving car sales out of the showroom and into a fully digital direct-to-consumer (DTC) experience — a big shift for an industry traditionally dependent on dealership-led transactions. To build an end-to-end online purchase flow (including payment and documentation), Nissan selected VTEX and its VTEX IO platform, supported by VTEX Professional Services, to quickly deliver a scalable ecommerce solution.

VTEX implemented a serverless VTEX IO storefront with integrations for real-time finance checks and dealer pick-up, delivering a fully functional MVP in two months (live August 2020). The channel sold more than 100 cars in three weeks, is expanding to integrate inventory from 183 dealerships, and has given Nissan improved operational control, direct customer insights and a profitable new sales route — all built and supported by VTEX.
