DIA Argentina Online grocery growth through omnichannel

DIA, a leading chain of proximity supermarkets in Argentina, faced a sudden surge in demand for safe online grocery options during COVID-19 and needed to unify its ecommerce and 900+ stores to offer ship‑from‑store, curbside and in‑store pick‑up with real‑time inventory visibility. To meet that challenge, DIA partnered with VTEX to accelerate its omnichannel rollout and surface each store’s assortment and stock online.

VTEX enabled DIA to integrate 352 stores in just 3.5 months, making its assortment available to roughly 300,000 daily customers and supporting ship‑from‑store and pick‑up workflows. The results were dramatic: conversion rate doubled versus 2019, over 50% of online buyers were new to DIA, Hot Sale and Cyber Monday sales grew year‑over‑year by 583% and 316% respectively, and in November 2020 half of ecommerce orders were fulfilled via pick‑up in‑store — outcomes driven by VTEX’s omnichannel solution.
