Coca Cola’s bottler in Chile sought direct access to consumer insights and a way to sell and control its brand experience online. To build a direct-to-consumer channel, Coca Cola (Coca‑Cola Andina) partnered with VTEX (and Ecomsur) to launch miCoca‑Cola.cl using the VTEX ecommerce platform after a three‑month implementation, aiming to overcome reliance on retailers and gain first‑hand customer data.
Using the VTEX platform, the team rapidly expanded the store’s assortment (adding alcohol, snacks and merch), optimized promotions and fulfillment, and scaled operations during COVID-19. VTEX’s solution helped Coca Cola triple daily orders within a week and drove miCoca‑Cola.cl to 500% growth in 2020 versus 2019, making it the most successful digital store in the Coca‑Cola system worldwide.
