Calimax, a traditional supermarket chain with more than 100 stores in Northwestern Mexico, faced the urgent challenge of launching e-commerce as COVID-19 closed physical retail. After nearly two years of stalled efforts, VTEX stepped in proposing to implement VTEX Commerce Cloud and get Calimax online in just four weeks.

VTEX used Agile delivery to define an MVP and rapidly deploy Commerce Cloud with native features and APIs, integrating store inventory/pricing and the JANIS OMS to enable multi-store fulfillment, ship‑from‑store, scheduled deliveries, weight-based products, and picker/driver apps. The VTEX implementation went live in four weeks, giving Calimax a functioning online sales channel during social distancing, maintaining customer loyalty and continuity of service across its brick-and-mortar network.
