A VPI Case Study
Meade County 911, the emergency response center serving Brandenburg and Muldraugh, KY (population ~30,000), needed a modern recorder to capture telephone and radio communications for liability, quality assurance and development while handling about 16,269 calls per year. Seeking greater efficiency, reliability and ease of use than their aging recorder, Meade County 911 evaluated several options and selected the VPI recording system.
VPI provided a non‑proprietary, open‑architecture recording solution (installed after a 30‑day trial) with fast, Internet‑style search and a mix of pre‑defined and on‑the‑fly custom reports. The VPI system delivered ultra‑reliable recordings, much faster record retrieval, and actionable call statistics that led Meade County 911 to increase staffing; it also streamlined incident recreation and sharing, improving overall emergency response and quality assurance.
