A VPI Case Study
The Meadows, a long-running Pittsburgh harness racing facility that handles roughly 10,000 phone bets per week, needed a digital voice recording system with an open interface to integrate seamlessly with its IVR and to reliably record calls for dispute protection. After finding its existing proprietary loggers could not integrate with the Natural Language IVR (FirstContact), The Meadows turned to VPI and its VPI Digital Voice Logger to meet that open-integration requirement.
VPI configured a 96-channel fault-tolerant server with an open-architecture API and ActiveX toolkit, enabling VeCommerce to build an add-on that tied VPI recording controls to the FirstContact/Nuance IVR. The VPI solution eliminated messy, time-consuming integration, saved The Meadows time and money on configuration, allowed easy exchange of information with existing applications, and provided scalable, reliable recording to protect against costly disputes.
