PPL EnergyPlus, a FORTUNE 500 energy company headquartered in Allentown, Pennsylvania, needed a reliable way to record customer interactions so verbal contracts could be captured and litigation risk reduced. To address persistent noise and tape-based recording problems, PPL EnergyPlus engaged VPI and its VPI CAPTURE™ interaction recording solution.
VPI implemented VPI CAPTURE, an open-architecture recording system that integrates with PPL’s Nortel PBX, stores interactions in a SQL-backed archive, and provides web-based search and retrieval. VPI’s solution eliminated “he said/she said” disputes, improved regulatory compliance, and cut call-retrieval time from 10–30 minutes to mere seconds, delivering hassle-free maintenance and measurable time and cost savings.
