Chevron Fire Department Streamlines Recording and Playback with VPI

Chevron Fire Department at the Chevron El Segundo Refinery needed a reliable, flexible call and radio recording solution that could scale with its growing needs and make it easy to quickly locate and replay calls and incidents. After evaluating several vendors, Chevron chose VPI and its MAXI V1.0 system to support emergency dispatch and firefighter communications.

VPI implemented a 32-channel, software-based open-architecture recording system with unlimited scalability for channels and storage. The solution gave Chevron ultra-reliable recording, easier retrieval and sharing of emergency incidents, and a user-friendly interface that reduced training time. According to the case study, the upgrade improved efficiency and reliability for dispatch and rescue operations, while providing a modern digital alternative to older reel-to-reel systems.
