A Votiro Case Study
ALYN Woldenberg Family Hospital, a rehabilitation center for physically challenged and disabled children in Jerusalem, faced a file-borne malware threat when an employee received a phishing email with a malicious Word attachment disguised as a payment confirmation. The document was designed to prompt macro enabling and could have downloaded malware onto the hospital’s systems. Votiro and its Secure File Gateway were used to address the challenge.
Votiro’s Secure File Gateway, powered by Positive Selection technology, automatically sanitized the attachment by removing the malicious macro and other weaponized elements before it reached the user. As a result, the attack was neutralized with no negative consequences for ALYN Hospital, helping the organization safely allow file downloads and avoid blocking legitimate files; ALYN noted that about 70% of files previously were not allowed by its former vendor.
