A Vonage Case Study
Operlo, a London-based developer of voice apps, needed a more cost-effective way to power its Find My Phone app. Its previous API provider billed by the minute, even though most calls lasted only about five seconds, driving up user verification and call costs. Operlo turned to Vonage Voice API and Vonage SMS API to handle calling and phone-number verification.
Vonage implemented per-second billing through its Voice API, while the SMS API was used to send security codes for new-user phone verification. The switch cut calling costs significantly, with Operlo saying it was paying only for the seconds used and had slashed verification costs in half. Operlo also benefited from clearer documentation, better support, and faster issue resolution from Vonage.
