T‑Mobile Czech Republic, a Prague‑based subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, faced growing pressure to give its 4,500 users—including 1,600 desktop users and 400 contractors—secure, flexible access to corporate applications from a variety of devices and locations. Limited workstation capacity, time‑consuming software reinstallations for training rooms, dependence on VPN and corporate PCs for remote work, and slow Windows provisioning created operational bottlenecks and service challenges for IT.
T‑Mobile implemented VMware Horizon to centralize provisioning, management and security of virtual desktops and apps, enabling BYOD, faster upgrades and simpler rollback. The deployment improved employee productivity and satisfaction, enabled on‑demand contractor onboarding and remote call‑center work, accelerated the move to Windows 10, reduced endpoint management costs, and strengthened security controls (including USB/data flow restrictions).
