T-Mobile Czech Republic Accelerates Infrastructure to Meet Customer Needs

T‑Mobile Czech Republic, a Deutsche Telekom group member and the country’s leading mobile operator with six million customers, faced rising complexity, cost and rigidity from dissimilar, non‑scalable physical storage and SAN infrastructure. The company needed a simpler, on‑demand storage model to reduce administration, cut space and power use, and better serve customers with private and dedicated cloud offerings.

T‑Mobile deployed VMware vSAN (managed through vCenter and vSphere ENT+) to create a hyper‑converged, software‑defined storage layer across hybrid clusters. The move reduced rack space, power and administration costs, improved data protection with native encryption, enabled modular capacity growth and disaster‑recovery use cases, and increased customer satisfaction while paving the way for all‑flash and additional VMware services.
