Case Study: Proximus achieves double-digit IaaS growth and an enterprise-class cloud platform with VMware virtualization

A VMware Case Study

Preview of the Proximus Case Study

Proximus Successfully Grows IaaS Business with Double Digits Thanks to VMware Virtualization Platform

Proximus, Belgium’s leading provider of telephony, internet, television and networked ICT services, set out to become the country’s top enterprise cloud provider while delivering worry-free integration, scalability, flexibility and a secure, multi-tenant infrastructure. To meet those demands they chose VMware as their virtualization foundation to enable a hybrid-capable platform that could integrate customer private clouds and public clouds when needed.

Using VMware technologies (ESX, vCenter, vCloud Director) Proximus deployed thousands of virtual machines to offer both unmanaged (vContainer) and managed IaaS, plus an SMB-in-the-Cloud bundle adopted by about 3,000 small businesses. The result is a reliable, flexible and scalable enterprise-grade cloud used by customers and partners, sustained double-digit cloud revenue growth, and a stronger Benelux market position — with plans to extend capabilities via NSX and additional public-cloud integrations.
