Vistex Helps UMG Accelerate Payments to Artists

Universal Music Group (UMG), the world’s largest music company, faced a high-speed data processing challenge as streaming and digital sales volumes exploded. To consolidate global revenue processing and accelerate payments to artists, UMG worked with Vistex and adopted Vistex Solutions for SAP to replace legacy systems and handle massive, complex sales and royalty data.

Vistex implemented a Global Clearing House (GCH) on Vistex Solutions for SAP with SAP HANA to ingest, validate, transform and allocate sales lines, manage intercompany participation and settle royalties and license income. The Vistex solution now processes 500 million new sales lines per month (up to 12 million lines per hour), shortened intercompany accounting timelines by months, and delivered faster, more frequent royalty reporting and payments to UMG’s artists and rights holders.
