Benjamin Moore, the 135-year-old premium paint manufacturer with a 5,000-strong network of independent retailers, was hindered by an aging legacy system (12 million records) that caused pricing confusion, slow rebate processing, heavy IT dependency, and limited data visibility. To modernize its order-to-cash and pricing operations, the company implemented SAP ERP and engaged Vistex (SAP Solution Extensions by Vistex) for catalog, promotions, rebate, billback and data maintenance functionality.
Vistex automated retailer-specific catalogues, promotions, rebates and billbacks and added workflow controls so Benjamin Moore now runs weekly catalog updates, issues rebate credits in days instead of up to 45 days, and reduced deal codes from 32 to 2. The implementation removed much IT overhead, enabled the pricing team to spend 15–20% more time on analysis versus administration, and improved efficiency, accrual accuracy and customer satisfaction.
