Nando’s, the South African restaurant chain, faced intense competition and needed a better way to stay relevant, understand guest preferences, and balance its fast food and fast casual model. Working with Vision Critical and its FireStarters insight community, Nando’s sought fast, customer-driven feedback to improve the customer experience and guide business decisions.

Vision Critical helped Nando’s launch FireStarters in 2013, connecting the brand with nearly 3,500 fans for ongoing input on product development, pricing, promotions, brand positioning, and customer satisfaction. The result was faster, more informed decisions and measurable growth: menu awareness rose from 1% to 4%, dine-in sales increased 10%, and take-away sales grew 8%.
