Skookum Kids, a small nonprofit focused on repairing gaps in the foster care system, needed a better way to manage deeply personal relationships with families, volunteers and donors as they scaled. To replace manual processes that were becoming untenable, they adopted Virtuous Nonprofit CRM (Virtuous) to centralize donor data, workflows and communications.
Virtuous integrated with Skookum Kids’ existing tools (MailChimp, Giving Fuel) and added social media insights and auto‑generated tasking, standardizing processes and keeping data synced across systems. The change saved staff time, prevented donors from “slipping through the cracks,” gave board and volunteers instant access to reports, and — in one measurable case — the social insights add‑on paid for itself in one day by identifying a donor who hosted a successful fundraiser after being contacted.
