How G4S Shifted From Sifting Through CVs to Assessing Skills With Vervoe

G4S Australia and New Zealand, a 2,000-employee security services provider, needed a better way to hire for hard-to-fill vocational roles such as correctional officers. Traditional CV screening and intuition-based interviews made it difficult to identify candidates from diverse backgrounds who had the right skills, while also slowing down recruitment.

To address this, G4S implemented Vervoe’s skills assessments at the start of the hiring process, allowing candidates to demonstrate verbal, numerical, and communication abilities before interviews. With Vervoe, G4S was able to assess a much larger volume of applicants, save significant recruiter time, reduce reliance on CVs and unconscious bias, and create a more human, tailored candidate experience.
