How Colorado Coalition for the Homeless Improved Internal Mobility, Using Vervoe

Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (CCH), a Denver-based nonprofit serving more than 22,000 people each year, wanted to improve internal mobility for its case managers. To give employees a fair chance to advance while maintaining a high standard of care, CCH needed a more objective and consistent way to assess readiness for promotion. It turned to Vervoe and its AI-powered job simulation assessments to help evaluate internal talent.

Vervoe worked with CCH to build customized assessments from scratch for different case manager levels, using role-specific questions designed to test real-world skills rather than just academic knowledge. The result was a fairer, faster, and more efficient process that helped identify who was ready to progress and who needed additional training. CCH also reported that Vervoe’s AI grading matched manual scoring within a percentage point or two, and dozens of employees have since moved through the internal progression path.
