A Vertical Communications Case Study
Warehouse Discount Center, a Southern California retail chain with seven locations, needed to connect separate phone systems that couldn’t communicate with each other, reduce store-to-store calling costs, and add consistent unified communications features like 4-digit extensions, call transfers, voice mail, and customizable on-hold messaging. The company had already been using Vertical Communications’ Wave IP at headquarters and wanted to extend those capabilities across all stores.
Vertical Communications, working through Blue Chip, expanded the existing Wave IP system to link all seven locations and added Wave Global Manager for centralized administration, software updates, backups, and reporting. The result was a single companywide phone system that eliminated inter-store calling fees, saving enough to cover the cost of the new installation, while also improving productivity, enabling seamless call handling, and giving Warehouse Discount Center a flexible tool for location-based marketing messages.
