American Academy, a non-profit K-8 charter school with three campuses in Douglas County, Colorado, needed a secure and highly reliable communications system to keep staff, students, and families connected across its campuses. The school turned to Vertical Communications for help, and Vertical identified the Mitel 3300 platform, along with unified communications tools, as the right fit for their needs.

Vertical Communications implemented a highly survivable solution with geo-redundant failover, power backups, carrier call forwarding, SIP, and a Virtual Mitel Border Gateway to support secure remote collaboration. The rollout included MiCollab for messaging, presence, and audio conferencing, plus a custom support program so American Academy’s IT team could manage daily administration with backup from Vertical. The result was a stable, consistent phone system across all three campuses, with 260 users benefiting from improved inter-campus communication and dependable service from day one.
