TriSummit Utilities, a Canadian energy company serving about 133,000 customers across three utilities and provinces, faced aging, highly customized CIS systems from the 1990s, operational inefficiencies, and an impending regulatory compliance deadline for Apex Utilities Inc. To modernize billing and customer service, TriSummit selected VertexOne and its VXenterprise CIS built on SAP S/4HANA, together with VertexOne’s Digital suite (VXengage, VXcommunicate, VXrepository) delivered as a hosted SaaS solution.
VertexOne implemented the hosted VXenterprise and digital self-service tools, enabling unified CIS processes, automated workflows, and better analytics to support compliance, billing timeliness, exception management, and call-center performance. Despite a three-week COVID-driven startup delay, VertexOne’s solution delivered greater regulatory flexibility, reduced errors, improved reporting and decision-making, new customer self-service for notification preferences, updated bill formats and targeted communications across TriSummit’s ~133,000-customer base.
