Preview of the Large Food Retailing Company Case Study

Large Food Retailer Increases Store Locations with Secure SD-WAN

Large Food Retailing Company, a major quick‑serve food retailer operating thousands of stores, regional sites and warehouses across India, was suffering frequent link instability (downtime, high latency, packet loss), costly dual‑MPLS backup, poor automatic failover and security gaps at store locations using DIA. After evaluating multiple vendors, they engaged Versa Networks to address these WAN and security challenges with Versa Secure SD‑WAN.

Versa Networks deployed Versa Secure SD‑WAN (in partnership with Tata Communications as an ISP) across stores, the data center and regional sites, using traffic conditioning, seamless failover, bandwidth aggregation and consolidated NGFW/UTM branch security. The solution cut order failures from about 10–15 per day to 1–3, improved throughput and uptime, enabled cheaper primary/broadband secondary links to reduce TCO, and increased overall availability and business continuity.
