LAWSS, the Lambton Area Water Supply System in Ontario, Canada, needed to replace an outdated, legacy radio-based network that could not support modern services across its nine remote locations. As a critical utilities provider serving about 120,000 users, LAWSS had to improve security, reliability, and cloud readiness while protecting against cyberattacks, contamination risks, and service disruptions. Versa Networks implemented a secure, fully managed SASE/SD-WAN deployment that connected all branches, including rural sites, and supported migration of control systems to the cloud with minimal disruption. The rollout was completed in under 30 days after testing, with no downtime, and has continued to deliver fast, secure operations for four years. LAWSS reported software update times of about 10 minutes, better visibility and control across the network, lower total cost of ownership, and stronger protection for customer and proprietary data.
