Centurylink Selects Versa Networks for Key Component of New Managed SD-Wan and Security Service

CenturyLink selected Versa Networks to power a new managed SD‑WAN and SD‑Security service, using Versa FlexVNF software to deliver an NFV‑based alternative to proprietary hardware appliances. CenturyLink’s challenge was to provide centralized provisioning, scalable SD‑WAN with integrated Internet security, faster service delivery and better application visibility without the long deployment times of legacy WANs.

Versa Networks delivered a software‑based, multi‑tenant NFV solution (Versa FlexVNF) managed via the Versa Director portal, combining SD‑WAN with integrated SD‑Security (including a next‑generation firewall and application visibility/control). The result was significantly faster provisioning and the ability to instantly scale or upgrade services without shipping hardware — cutting deployment timelines that previously took weeks or months while lowering cost and improving application performance and security.
