A Verint Systems Case Study
Price Chopper, a family-owned grocery chain with 119 locations across the Northeast, faced an aging analog surveillance system that relied on DVRs and DVD storage. The retailer needed faster video retention and retrieval, stronger loss-prevention capabilities, and a scalable foundation for future analytics and IT applications.
Working with integrator Checkpoint Systems, Price Chopper migrated to a hybrid IP solution using Verint Nextiva S1724e encoders to preserve its 9,000+ analog cameras, Nextiva IP cameras and Nextiva Retail software, EMC CLARiiON storage, and IBM servers running VMware. The upgrade sped up video access, integrated with POS and access control, enabled rapid incident response (recovering a stolen wallet and disproving a false injury claim), delivered operational analytics like queue monitoring, and is delivering measurable ROI as deployment continues.
